Impact Camp

Impact Camp is a dynamic hub for the National Impact Challenge Finalists to implement and advance their innovations in the aging sector.

In June 2023, we partnered with AGE-WELL to host the National Impact Challenge – Bold Innovations for Living. This pitch competition brought together eight finalists (a mix of startups and community organizations) from across Canada for a chance to win one of two $25,000 grand prizes and in-kind support for their technology, innovative program or service that helps people age with choice and dignity. All finalists have been invited to be part of our Impact Camp, which will:

Create opportunities for the finalists to share and learn from each other.
Connect finalists to end-users to test and scale their innovations.
Link finalists to SE Health’s expertise and network to help drive forward their innovations.

AGING proACTIVELY

Nova Scotia

Aging proActively is a non-profit Community-Based Seniors Serving Organization (CBSSO) that is piloting the Certified Age Friendly Employer (CAFE) program in Canada. The program helps employers recruit and retain older adults.

Amintro

Ontario

Amintro is a virtual platform that connects people through a free online friendship-making platform for adults 50+, and a newly launched online community for those caring for aging parents, family or friends.

Axtion Independence Mobility

Nova Scotia

Axtion Independence Mobility created a device that helps prevent falls and also helps people recover from a fall. The Ibex Lift is a walker with a battery-powered elevating seat that lowers to the floor, goes as high as 24” and can stop anywhere in between.

Chirp

Ontario

Chirp develops passive health monitoring solutions for seniors aging in place using privacy-preserving radar sensors. Changes in baseline behavior are flagged as predictors of health problems and enables home health providers, and families to intervene earlier and improve health outcomes.

ElderPRIME

British Columbia

ElderPrime is a digital health co-management platform that streamlines healthcare for older adults and family caregivers by preparing for appointments, aiding in communication with doctors, retaining medical information, and securely sharing it.

Root & Seed

Ontario

Root & Seed develops physical and digital tools that facilitate meaningful intergenerational conversations to collect stories and celebrate traditions and rituals for generations to come.

Social Services Network (SSN)

Ontario

SSN works in collaboration with Next Generation Arts support arts for intergenerational engagement to foster community identity, wellness, and connectivity through art. Together, youth and older adults take part in community consultations and arts workshops, culminating in a mural painting and community celebration.

UVX

British Columbia

UVX helps senior homes reduce infection risk and cleaning cost by using UV light that is safe for humans but deadly for pathogens. UVX’s technology has proven to make indoor air as safe as the outdoors while being 180,000-times safer than sunlight, inactivating pathogens like SARS-CoV-2, Influenza, C. diff, and Norovirus within minutes.
