We’re sorry to share the news that our long-time friend, advocate and dedicated board member, Janet Holder, has passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Janet's association with Saint Elizabeth began in 2000 when she joined the foundation (fundraising) board. She served proudly as the chair and past chair during her long affiliation. Janet also served on Saint Elizabeth’s governance board and provided guidance and council beginning in 2009 where she served on the board’s executive committee.

“Janet’s insight and balanced views were tremendously helpful to me personally over the years.  I could always count on Janet’s solid foundation of business sense combined with a generous helping of humanity and compassion.  She’ll be greatly missed.” said Shirlee Sharkey, President and CEO of Saint Elizabeth.

Janet had recently retired from Enbridge Inc. as an Executive Vice President where she led the Northern Gateway Pipelines project.  She was a pioneer in the oil and gas sector, as one of the first women in a key leadership role.  Janet was always active in her community including working with United Way and she was also a recipient of numerous awards.  Her legacy of mentorship, leadership and caring will live on in the many lives of people she touched.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Neal, and their wide network of family and friends.
