SE Health is one of Canada’s largest home health organizations and a leading social enterprise. Through our impact work, our goal is to enable aging in place, drive health system change, improve affordability, and maximize value for people, communities, and society. We achieve this through our Research, Community Impact Initiatives, and End of Life Work.
As a not-for-profit social enterprise, SE Health believes in supporting our communities with meaningful contribution and actions that make a difference. We collaboratively develop programs and solutions in the areas of aging, Indigenous health, and end of life care. A notable example is our COURAGE initiative, in partnership with the Covenant family in Alberta, we are working to deliver and promote a positive future for older adults. Together we champion an approach that supports options for older adults to have choice and dignity — ensuring that Canadians can age in their communities and older adults can live well, feel connected and have a sense of fulfillment every day.
The SE Research Centre is funded by SE Health to conduct impact-oriented health services research and evaluation for the benefit of Canadians. We study the needs of people, their caregivers, and healthcare providers, to develop evidence-based solutions to tough health and social care problems. Our researchers collaborate with a wide variety of community and academic partners across Canada. In the SE Research Centre there are four fields of research and evaluation: Aging in Society; Dying, Death and Grief; Health and Care Experiences; and Models of Care Delivery.
With a vision to honour the human side of healthcare, we are focused on: - Supporting a variety of residential hospices through local partnerships - Delivering high quality palliative care education to healthcare providers and volunteers - Expanding access to spiritual care, bereavement and family supports - Conducting research to understand and enhance end-of-life experiences
Over the years, we have partnered with leading organizations in Alberta to enhance health equity in palliative care. Our partnerships and work includes:
We are working collaboratively to ensure that Albertans can age in their communities and older adults can live well, feel connected and have a sense of fulfillment every day.

We visited your beautiful residence last weekend to see our mother. We were so impressed at the warmth and cleanliness of the building, and it warmed our hearts knowing that she is receiving such amazing care! Everyone was so helpful, kind and compassionate! Such a great staff!

I have been sitting in my room for a couple of days, trying to figure out who to give a shout-out to. I say all the LPNs who have been good to me. Then I get to HCA’s girls, who make me smile and cheer me up when I’m down. This has gone on for nine years. They get all my shout-outs.
