Tom Wellner is a highly experienced corporate executive, Board Director who recently retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of Revera Inc., a leading global owner, operator and developer in the senior living/healthcare sector. With over three decades of substantial global experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare services, Mr. Wellner has led several organizations, including President & CEO of Lilly Germany GmbH, President & CEO LifeLabs/CML Healthcare, Ltd., and President & CEO Therapure Biopharma.
He has been a guest lecturer on international business and healthcare at Harvard, Rotman and INSEAD Schools of Business, and has been engaged in significant advisory work within private equity and venture capital communities.
He currently serves on the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) Board, (a large global asset manager); the Homestead Land Holdings Board, (a large private owner of multifamily real estate) and some early stage private boards. He recently completed his mandate on the Andlauer Health Group, TSX:AHG where he chaired the audit committee. He has previously served on the boards of FreshBooks, Novadaq Technologies, Cipher Pharmaceuticals, Diamedica Inc. various Revera entities including Sunrise Senior Living and has been an advisor to a variety of private equity/venture capital funds and family offices.
Mr. Wellner holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences from Queen’s University and has received the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors from the Rotman School of Management.
