Physiotherapy at SE Health is available for clients of all ages and supports individuals with a wide range of health conditions. Whether it's pain management and rehabilitation from an acute injury like a sprained ankle, or management of chronic conditions such as diabetes or heart disease, a physiotherapist can help. A physiotherapist also provides education and advice for health promotion, disease and injury prevention. (Source: Canadian Physiotherapy Association)
Occupational therapy at SE Health can help you regain the ability to perform daily tasks, such as eating, dressing, and bathing, as well as participate in activities that are important to you, such as taking care of yourself, going to work, or enjoying leisure activities. Our goal is to provide you or the person you are caring for with personalized care to restore the ability to perform tasks and maintain a safe, independent and enjoyable lifestyle. Our occupational therapists will develop a customized plan to support seniors, adults and children in learning or relearning the skills you need to live independently.
Social work at SE Health helps individuals, families, groups and communities to enhance their individual and collective well-being. It aims to help people develop their skills and their ability to use their own resources and those of the community to resolve problems. (Source: Canadian Association of Social Workers) Community-based social workers enrich individuals' lives by helping them cope with vital issues such as emotional, family and economic health - all within the comfort of their home environment. Our social workers address many needs, including palliative care, caregiver distress, abuse/neglect, intergenerational or family conflict, brain injury, and addressing complex social problems.
Speech-Language Pathology at SE Health helps identify, assess and rehabilitate children and adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders at home or in the community. Our speech-language pathologists assess, treat and help people manage communication and swallowing disorders. Our staff can help with communication problems as they can be frustrating and demoralizing, as well as impact a person’s ability to communicate at home, work or school. Additionally, our staff can also help to reduce the risk of aspiration and choking, thereby increasing an individual's safety, nutritional intake and overall enjoyment of eating.
