Leinic Chung-Lee is the winner of the 2021 Michael Decter Scholarship for Health Leadership and Policy Studies.

SE Health is excited to announce that Leinic Chung-Lee is the winner of the 2021 Michael Decter Scholarship for Health Leadership and Policy Studies.

Each year, the Scholarship seeks high-performing students entering a first-year graduate health leadership or policy program who are passionate about making a difference in Canadian healthcare. The scholarship supports students across the country and reflects Michael Decter’s exceptional health leadership and legacy.

Leinic Chung-Lee is a proud mother and PhD student in the Urban Health Program at Ryerson University in Toronto. Her doctoral research focuses on quality and access to virtual care, with a goal of informing policy directions. As a Registered Nurse, Chung-Lee has practiced in various settings, including hospital, academic, and public health. Most of her career has been in the domain of public health, specializing in health promotion and quality improvement.

She has also served as Chair of the Infection Prevention & Control Awards Committee on the Board of Directors of the Registered Nurses' Foundation of Ontario; and as Communications Officer on the Executive Committee of the Community Health Nurses of Canada.

With the virtualization of health care advancing into normalization, Chung-Lee hopes to influence virtual care program planning to redress existing health disparities and to mitigate the risks of widening the health equity gap. She is committed to improving population health with a collaborative nursing, inter-professional, cross-sectoral, and community-driven perspective.

Please join us in congratulating Leinic Chung-Lee on this incredible achievement!
